AI visibility
Find out whether AI assistants recommend you — or your competitor.
Buyers increasingly ask an assistant before they ask a search engine. NameSignal puts your buyers' questions to the major AI providers and measures what comes back: whether you are named, where you rank, how much of the answer you own, and who is named instead.
What gets measured
Mention rate
How often your brand appears at all.
Average rank
Where you land when the answer is a ranked list.
Share of voice
How much of the answer is yours, weighted by position.
Sentiment
Measured only on the sentences that name you.
Competitors
Who is recommended instead, and where they place.
Citations
The sources the answer was built from, where the provider reports them.
A worked example
Everything below is produced by the same scoring code that runs on a customer account, over the example answer shown. Nothing here is a mockup.

The question asked
“What are the best time tracking tools for a small agency?”
The answer
For a small agency, the strongest options are: 1. **Bellhop** — the most polished timer and the best mobile apps. Strong if your team tracks on the go. 2. **Acme Timesheets** — the best balance of time tracking and invoicing, and the easiest to roll out to a team that has never tracked time before. Agencies tend to like the client-facing reports. 3. **Cadence Work** — deep project accounting, though it takes longer to set up than the others. If billing accuracy matters most, Acme Timesheets is the safest starting point.

The sentence the score came from
**Acme Timesheets** — the best balance of time tracking and invoicing, and the easiest to roll out to a team that has never tracked time before.
Note that Acme Timesheets ranks second here. The example is not chosen to flatter the product — a tool that only shows you winning is not measuring anything.
Which assistants
Supported and connected are different things, and this page states both rather than showing four logos and letting you assume.
- Claude (API)Not connected
- GPT (API)Connected
- Gemini (API)Not connected
- Perplexity (API)Not connected
Measured through each provider’s API. Consumer apps like ChatGPT, the Claude app, Gemini and Perplexity use different prompts, retrieval and personalisation, so these results show how a model talks about your category — not a screenshot of one person’s answer.
How often it runs
Run a check whenever you like, or set a brand to Daily or Weekly and let it run on its own. Scheduled runs use the same monthly answer allowance as manual ones, and a scheduled run can only happen once per period no matter how many times the scheduler fires.

One answer from one provider to one question is one unit. If a provider call fails, the unit is refunded — you are not charged for an answer you never received.
What this does not tell you
- It is not a screenshot of what one specific person sees. Consumer apps personalise; an API does not.
- It measures the models we can call. It says nothing about Google AI Overviews, an assistant built into someone’s browser, or a model we have no access to.
- Answers move on their own. A rank change between two runs can be the model, not you — which is why the history is kept and the answer that produced each score is stored beside it.
